EICA

Participants are thoroughly exposed to various instructive & training methodologies throughout the programme. Almost 1/3 of the course duration is spent in the lecture room for theoretical deliberation, group discussion and round tables. This practice usually takes place at EICA premises in Cairo. While the remaining duration emphasizes the aspects of learning methodology whereby, participants visit laboratories for demonstration work, in addition to field trips and study tours.

Course Organization:

The courses last for 11 weeks and the training activities are conducted daily (except for Fridays) from 9.00 to 12.00, and from 13.30 to 16.30 hrs.

FRIDAY IS THE OFFICIAL DAY OF REST. ON SATURDAYS THE DELEGATES WILL ENJOY A PROGRAMME OF TOURISTIC VISITS ORGANIZED BY THE CENTRE.

 

ADMISSION:

 

Participants should be:

  • Nominated by their own Governments.

  • Holders of a University degree or equivalent diploma.

  • Having work experience in the field for a minimum of three years.

  • Committed to continue work in the same field after the termination of the course.

  • Having a good command of spoken and written English and/or French and/or Spanish.

  • Healthy enough to participate actively in the course. Yet, an HIV test is conducted at EICA upon arrival into Egypt and positive cases are deported immediately.

Regular Training Programs

 

Fellowships:

Participants are granted:

  • Round trip, economy class, air ticket to and from the Capital city of their countries through the shortest and least expensive route.

  • Full board accommodation throughout the duration of the training programme.

  • Pocket money stipend at a rate of L.E. 40 (Forty Egyptian Pounds) per day effective from day of arrival through day of departure, to cover some personal expenses.

  • Medical treatment for minor ailments which occur during the course, covering emergency and not chronic cases.

  • Domestic transportation throughout the course duration for locations related to the programme.

Nominating countries shall:

Defray such incidental expenses as those relating to passport, visas and vaccination, as well as the payment of the participant's usual salary and emoluments during his/her participation in the course. Also, coordinate transit charge during the trip to and from Egypt not supported by EICA.

Obligations:

Participants shall:

  • Ascertain from the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate in their countries regarding particulars related to visa obtainment, money exchange and health regulations prevalent in Egypt.

  • Make arrangements for any financial matters of private nature not provided by his/her Government and /or through the fellowship.

  • Submit four passport size photographs to EICA upon arrival.

  • Devote full time to the programme and participate actively in all stages of the course.
