The Egyptian International Centre for Agriculture “EICA” is a training
Institution affiliated to the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture & Land Reclamation,
that started its training activities in 1965, targeting
developing nations in Africa & Asia.
Between 1965 through 1982 (4) annual regular training courses, with a duration of (5) months each were implemented.
|l||Since 1982 (10) regular training programs, with a duration of (10-12) weeks each have been implemented.|
|l||The medium of instruction at EICA used to be English, with French through simultaneous interpretation.|
|l||In 1975 the Spanish language was introduced to EICA programs with the accession of the member countries to the Organization of American States (OAS).|
|l||Currently the geographic area covered by EICA includes countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America & The Caribbean, besides Eastern Europe.|
|l||English is presently the official medium of instruction at EICA training courses, besides interpretation into the French and Spanish languages.|
EICA training courses cover a wide range of specialized subjects emphasizing agricultural production and developmental sciences.

EICA offers (5) training scholarships to each member country under the geographical coverage area annually.
Since its inception EICA has trained more than 30,000 participants from 126 countries.
